I feel violated. Fees have been shoved down my throat. After a move-in fee, a move-out fee, application fee, and two elevator security deposits, my wallet has shriveled. The cheapest thing about this move was the cargo van rental ($70/Uhaul) and my hired labor (burgers and beer for CB and Scott E).
Is there anything I could have done about it? Perhaps I could have snuck out in the middle of the night, paying off the doormen to ensure their silence. But, sooner or later someone would have found out, and more than likely someone would have to pay; eventually coming back to me. So, I went the legit route and now I am eating Ramen noodles for a month.
Want some quality advice? Screw the high-rise life; it is overrated, but it is quite convenient. I do have a killer view, and I am smack-dab in the middle of everything. I am truly living the city life. But, I must say, that next I move, I am going to look into the new and up-and-coming hoods like; West Loop, South Loop, and River West. Condos in these areas offer more real estate for less money, and they are growing fast, so all of the conveniences of downtown living will are abundant.
So, check back in a year when I write about my next move, and stay tuned for the house-warming party.
